We're hoping all of you are well and are planning to attend the 2010 West Point Reunion in Branson, Missouri, in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. We have enjoyed putting fun activities together for all of you and we are looking forward to seeing you! We urge you to get your hotel reservations in as soon as possible!
The festivities will begin on September 29th, and will continue through October 2nd at the Honeysuckle Inn in Branson, Missouri. The address for the inn is:
3598 Shepherd Of The Hills Expressway
Branson, Missouri 65616
You may call the Inn at 1 800 942 3553 and tell them you are with the USS West Point Reunion group to reserve your rooms for a special rate of $75.00 plus tax per night. That price includes a Continental breakfast, coffee 24/7 in the lobby, and use of the hospitality room, and also applies for up to three extra days before and after the reunion dates.
You will probably wish to fly into Springfield, which is roughly 45 miles from the hotel. If you don't wish to rent a car, there are cab shuttles from the airport which can be reserved (phone number is 417 339 2227), and the fare is $80.00 for 1 to 4 people, one way.
If you aren't planning on renting a car in Springfield, please pass your flight info along to Elsie Hensley, and we'll try to get things organized so that there are as many people in as few cabs as possible, and save you some money.
Another option is flying directly into Branson on a smaller plane. If you do this, the shuttle from the Branson airport is $27.00 for 1 or 2 people ($47.00 round trip).
Events Scheduled
Wednesday Evening: We will either have sandwiches at the hotel or eat out.
Thursday: We will have a 24 passenger bus for the day. We will go to the Oldtown River Walk and have lunch then return to the hotel before going to the Moon River Theater for the Andy Williams Show at 7:00 PM. This will be a short bus ride to allow you to see what Branson looks like; I think you will be surprised and happy!
Friday: The official Business Meeting is Friday morning, and the rest of the day is free. You may want to attend another show (there are shows all day long!), one of the many restaurants in the area, or just enjoy the hospitality room. You may do as much or as little as you wish.
Saturday: The Banquet! This will be a catered buffet dinner at the Honeysuckle Inn.
Some have already reserved rooms and September will be here before you know it! All this information will be repeated in the August Pup, but please get those reservations in sooner rather than later!
Bottom Line: In addition to the room reservations, you will need to send Elsie Hensley a check for $80.00 per person to pay for banquet, show tickets, and bus fare, since she is organizing these events and paying for the contracts.
BRANSON HERE WE COME!
